Cars been in unit 18 for 2 week snow arggggh

Featured Replies

Cars been in the garage for just over 2 weeks with suspected main bearings in the gearbox still not 100% sure as gearbox is with a 3rd party company I'm just frustrated as hell as I've had to pay out for taxis etc over the last few weeks and I've spent a few hundered on them, I really needed the car back this weekend but that looks like its not going to happen I just feel like saying dont bother doing the work and use the £1000 I got to get another car and stripping the thing for parts.... Just want to vent some frustration

Why didn't you just get an exchange recon gearbox or a guaranteed S/H one then get Unit 18 to just do the swap?

Or just ignore it!

My main bearings been whining for 20k now!

Haha big jase s/h does that mean 2nd hand I did say about another gearbox but Ali said it would probably be best to just rebuild mine than getting a 2nd hand one I'm still not sure of cost etc but I only had the input shaft bearings done a couple of years ago

Yeah I went for refurbishing my current box rather than buy a second hand one that could go the same way within a few months/year. Rather have the car off the road a little longer and be sorted in one hit (as annoying as it is)

It's frustrating as he'll lol, I can appreciate Ali can only do it as fast as the guys who recon the gearbox it's just annoying that I've had to do without a motor for 2 weeks

Have you looked at Enterprise or one of the larger hire companies? You might be able to save a few ££ by hiring a small car for the week than use taxis if they're costing you that much.

Yeah I am looking at hiring a car for a week just to see how much it costs
