After having enjoyed my first trackday at Blyton the other week I couldnt wait to get booked on another.

Going to do Blyton again as it is near enough and as I still consider myself a novice its an ideal track with plenty of run-off and not much to hit.

May try another track next time.

Don't blame you booking again. I loved the old track and did many trackdays with scooby net there.

Seriously considering this for my first experience. Been on track at Croft before for an experience day but now I have something to drive myself and have a bit of fun.

What's Blyton like? I've seen a couple of videos, good place to learn?

I would say its ideal for a novice (like myself) with plenty of run-off and not much to hit.

 

Also the owner is very strict in terms of making sure everyone behaves and will kick people out who are seen to race or just being stupid.

I have done, it looks like a decent deal, spaces still left. The 31st is my birthday.

 

Be nice to get a bit of instruction too.

Did you have your own helmet and everything before your first one, or did you hire for the day? I think that's my course for this one anyway, to see if I really enjoy it. No doubt I will really... but still.

I borrowed a helmet last time, but have now bought my own (was only £35) - you can hire them on the day if you want though.

 

Did the same as you - went for an experience day at Croft and have wanted to try in my own car ever since.

Oulton Park was my first ever track day! It was raining all day and freezing cold as it was in February!!!  Just book it mate, be good to see you there.

It's not overly loud, but I have no way of checking it beforehand... so I have no idea. It has a stainless system on it.


What did you do? Go and hope?

I think it will be fine, didnt really give it a thought when I went as I guess the limit was for track specials. If its quiet enough on the road I am sure it will eb ok on the track.

Had a new timing belt fitted and a new set of front brake pads. Just as well I did, they wouldn't have made it 5 laps.

Only checked fluids and tyre pressures/condition - hopefully everything else is ok - see you tomorrow!!!
