Just bought some 17" spiders for my Fabia and the tyres on them are 205/50/17 would I have any problems with this size of tyre or am I going to need some 205/40/17???

Yeah you need 205 or 215/40/17

I would be going 205s but 215s will give slightly better rim protection

I'm running 205s but like ^^^^^^ Dan said 215s do offer that little bit more rim protection.

What's the difference in the speedo on 17's if anyone knows?

205/40/17 will under read by .5mph at 60.

PS who cares about underreading which is particularly out on 215s so I understand?

Given the speedo by DESIGN is already out by aabout that much so it basically makes the speedo more accurate lol

205/50 is more about arch fouling than speedo inaccuracy.

I'm weird and have 215/40 fronts, 205/40 rears. Just worked out that way.

195/40 FTW

205/45s work, fill the hole a little more and help a smidgeon with ride quality etc. The speedo will be slightly more truthful...
