Hello guys!

I want to replace the central exhaust unit,the resonator on my 2001 1.8T octy.I found a replacement unit from a 1.9TDI ,it looks the same,the pipe diameter is the same 55mm,but will it fit?

Think I saw something on an Audi forum about a few people using diesel centre pipes on A3's, so I'd guess at yes.

Can't remember what I was searching for when I read it though.

Edit: Remembered, was looking for stuff about R-Tech's VVT mapping.

I fitted the diesel non resonated section to my vrs with the standard back box and then a tiny jap can back box. Sounded like a jet which was awesome for the first 2 hours with the jap can. Sounded like a wet fart when hooked up to a standard back box. So I did I little digging and found the diesel resonated section will fit the standard exhaust without issue. So I've got one on and it's all good. Only cost about £20 too! I used eBay to find the right part number with the correct diameter.
