Advice desperately needed

Featured Replies

My vrs 57 plate vrs tfsi has developed a very high pitched turbo noise .. It kicks in at about 2200 revs and continues until gear change and heard mostly in 1st 2nd and 3rd gears. I have read all the posts regarding police sirens on listened to the odd recording and i don't think it sounds the same. The noise gets more higher pitched along side the increase in revs and drops with the revs and I can hear it in neutral and it kicks in at 2200 revs.. Took it to bvr in longton and the guy there came out with me and said he could hear some turbo noise but it sounded normal. But I don't recall hearing it 6 months ago when I bought the car which is why I'm concerned!!

My big question is what do I do leave it? See what happens?

Bearing in mind I am no mechanic so I'm at the mercey of others

Could just be normal but a bit more prominant as the weathers warmed up. I had the same worry with a tdi when i first had the window open, suddenly you can here the turbo sucking and wooshing.

Wait to see if it gets worse.

Try another garage?
