S3 rear brakes on a vrs?

Featured Replies

Got some decent brakes on the front and was wondering is it worth swapping the rears for a set of vented s3 rear brakes or is it not worth the effort? (A mate has some going very cheap)

Wont fit, you need the 256 vented from a 2wd car.

I think there is an issue with carrier spacing on the rear brakes from an S3, they do fit just not as straight forward as ones from an Octavia for example.

Someone will clarify shortly or if you search it'll be covered somwhere!

Yea I know they need spacing to fit I was meaning more from a performance point of view

I like my 256 vented rears, look better and do make a difference to the "bite" of the pedal.

Mine are from an anniversary golf and were a straight fit no problem. Around £100 is the common price.

Even with spacing they still won't fit without mods to the carrier. Just not worth the messing around.

So the best option is 256 rears from golfs/Octavias?

Yes, it's the only viable option really.

As long as its 2WD yes.
