when we'll have octavia hybrid?

Featured Replies

I think it's about the time, isn't?

Can't see it happening any time soon as I don't believe Skoda export to markets where hybrids are popular such as the USA.

Very soon there wil be a Golf hybrid, so hopefully soon.

I hope they go for Diesel Hybrid and not Petrol, otherwise the TDI's will be just as economical so the petrol hybrid becomes just an expensive equivalent in terms of economy!

Don't expect any hybrids from Skoda any time soon. That's the word from Skoda UK director Alasdair Stewart anyway.

The recent unveilings of Volkswagen's XL1 concept and electric up! city car (due 2014) suggest that the VW Group is finally preparing to launch an alternatively fuelled vehicle in the UK but Skoda fans, don't pull out your cheque book just yet

"We don't have any hybrid plans for the next three to four years," Mr Stewart toldTheGreenCarWebsite. "Obviously brands like Renault have really invested in electric cars but there has been no real pull from the market."

He believes that until there is a real seachange in market demand, it would be highly unlikely that the Czech brand would be adding any hybrid or electric cars to its UK range.

I've always said, surely diesel hybrids would be much more economical. So why are the majority petrol?

I would imagine Skoda will go hybrid, when it is tried and established in other (road going) VAG cars. I would imagine it would first go into an Audi due to their recent success in Le Mans.

I'm sure I remember seeing a blue A4 hybrid at Geneva in March.

It was an A3 Sportback apparently capable of 188 MPG!

It's just a little step. In my 1.4 TSI there is plenty of space to insert an electric engine. So yes with this technology we may have very soon the octy hybrid.
