Lowering

Featured Replies

Hi all,

I have toyed with the idea of getting rid the Superb and swapping it for something more sporty, but to be quite honest... I LOVE IT! It drives well, mpg is pretty good and it will shift if I want it too.

So I've decided that after my holiday (which is currently draining my funds) I will start tweeking it. I know alot on here wont fully agree with me but each to there own.

I was looking at some Eibach lowering springs to lower it approx 30mm.

Then I may get some split rims, only going to go to 18 inch.

I want this so it looks nice but also to improve the handling.

Has anyone tried this with theirs yet? Anything I need to look out for?

Thanks

Gday , I had an Eibabach B12 Prokit fitted that comprised of Eibach springs and Bilstein dampers . The car sits 25 mm lower front and rear and looks a lot better as a result. The handling has improved with far less body roll in corners and improved turn in. The car feels more planted on the road and the jiggly ride is gone when sitting in the rear seat Access in and out of the seats has not been adversly affected. There was a problem with the ride sensors setting off warning lights but a search on the internet led to the fix. By shortening the shaft connecting the 2 front and 2 rear ride height sensors the system could be reset. The car has standard 17" alloys and I have fitted Khumo 235 x45 KU21 4X all weather tyres to the front and will replace the 225x45 Falken at the rear next. They are quiet and the ride is smooth and in the wet give more grip I feel and the extra width looks great with a bit more protection from kerb impacts a bonus. I am unable to load photos but I have fitted a black lip spoiler to the boot as well as black side mouldings with chrome inserts along the lower door crease line. I had a silver decal made up to match the alloys and this sits above the protection moulding This has reduced the blockiness of the side view by drawing the eye down and it has made the white car look more sporty.
