Alloy Repair

Featured Replies

Hi,

could anyone recommend an alloy repair/refurbishment company in the Watford or NW London areas. I've got a couple of nicks in my Monte Carlo alloys and the quote cost from the dealers is rather high.

thanks

Not sure if in your area but is a franchise had some done on an audi by chipsaway £50 per wheel did a very good job

Kev, i have lost your phone number, pm me it and i know someone who will come to you for that and he is very good.

I got quoted £60 by Skoda Main Delaership, Progress in Letchworth

Kev i will get Mike to give you a call.

I scuffed an alloy yesterday - I'm usually very careful and it's the first time I've done this in 20-odd years of driving. To make it all the more painful I also received a letter from the council yesterday knocking back my claim for pothole damage to another alloy :(.

I used Chips Away to repair scuffing on an alloy back in 2005 (damage was there when I bought the car :) ) and it was a great job.

However, for some reason I now have a nagging doubt about the long-term durability of 'smart' repairs on alloys - it's that versus the cost and hassle of a full refurb (I actually had all four refurbished last year - lucky white heather...).
