Tom Tom Via 135M Sat Nav. Anyone know if they are any good?

Featured Replies

I do not need another Sat Nav, but,

Just received one as a part payment, new in the box and with a receipt. (legit and not knocked off.)

It cost £129,

so in can return it, and get the dosh.

Not opening the Box yet.

Question is,

is it any good and worth keeping.??

It comes with 'Life Time Maps', and the reviews i have read seem OK.

I like Simple,

but not sure that the voice commands will be understood with my accent.

If you dont need it & are happy with your existing sat nav then why not sell it on here?

Really because i can just go and get the £129 back today or tomorrow.

No profit required.

But if it is OK to use,

and with Lifetime Maps i would either give it as a gift in the future or use maybe if needed anytime.

Only wondering if anyone has or used one of these.

We've a Tom Tom and have found it pretty poor. Regularly wrong for us especially using post codes even when updates were valid. Often have to browse the map to lock in the right street. Have found a Google map print out more reliable.

Lifetime maps is a bonus since ours is now dated and the price of updates is more than the cost of a new sat nav.

Quite disappointed in it.

Used our friend's Tom Tom whilst we were on holiday in Crete and found it distinctly "clunky" in operation. Much prefer my Garmin.

Hi George

I use the VIA 135 on a daily basis and find it great, I have not had a lot of experience with other makes but the tom tom is far superior, but as far as

the maps for life, are you sure the offer is still running as I got mine in December last year and was told the deal runs out in the March (2013) so if

you decide to keep it check it out !

Cheers.

'Life' tends to mean the 'product life'. So when they stop selling it that's the 'end of life'. Not just Tom Tom that plays that trick.

Cheers.

I have just looked at the halfords site, and it says the Promotion has been extended till 31st July 2013

Thanks all.

I returned it this morning and got cash money and only invested some of it at KFC..

Looked around some of the Sat Navs now available and know that if i was buying one

it would be a Tom Tom Start 60.

Seems ideal for a driver with failing eye sight.

So when i start touring the country on a Mobility Scooter, that will be my weapon of choice.
