Whats a vcds mate? Is it a vagcom?

The common problems are either a battery that's coming to the end of it's life or the starter motor. There's an in built feature that requires the engine to crank at a minimum RPM on warm/hot starts before the fuel is injected, if it doesn't reach that figure no fuel is supplied so the car won't start. This is disabled on cold start and fuel is supplied no matter how slow the engine is cranked. HTH
