Windscreen distortion

Featured Replies

I've just jumped in my car and noticed that the windscreen is slightly distorted around the tax disc holder area. By distorted I mean that when you look through it at a number plate it looks as if you are looking at the number plate in a hall of mirrors at the fairground. Can some of you guys (and gals) have a look at your windscreen and see if it is the same. Thanks in advance

Stu

Btw the drivers side is perfect and there is no distortion at all.

I take it you mean while sitting in the drivers seat. Just looked at mine, hadn't noticed anything before, but there is distortion. Must be the angle you look through the screen on that side causing it, there's quite a curve in the screen there.

Wouldn't say it was anything like you describe though.

I have noticed on many windscreens that if you look through them at a shallow angle they distort what you see through them. I always thought this was the lamination. But never noticed this distortion from sitting behind the wheel.

Mine is the same.

I have a home made, half screen (perfect fit, passenger side, & easy to fold in half, cardboard) sun screen. Turned it over today to use in drivers side. Hardly fits. Weird  :wonder:
