No, early builds dont get it but its coming soon to the UK market (for the estate). :)

Standard or optional?

Really? Like my Superb, and my Octy before that, surely to get the totally flat floor the rear seat bases need to be folded up so the seat backs drop into the space creating a flat area?

Is the variable boot floor optional? or standard?

Not far off the legroom of the Superb.

Sadly, the seats don't actually fold flat - bizarre in an estate. This is from another thread:

Checked today- the seats back fold down but the bench is fixed. So it isn't flat but I have seen cars where the 'slope' is a lot worse.

With the variable floor it meets the base of the seat back and there is small slope upwards.

But the left single seat is totally flat and the headrest is high.....................

I don't think the rear seat squabs lift up and fold forwards as they do in the Superb Estate.

The variable boot floor is optional. Standard Octavia Estates have a pronounced slope when the rear seat backs are folded forwards. Shame really, especially if you want to load a bicycle or any other long load- the Superb Estate is excellent in this respect.

I still don't get the benefit of the variable boot floor, isn't it just an extra that is going to consume space in your boot and effectively make it smaller?

Variable boot floor is very handy for storing thisngs like brollys, 1st aid kit , warning triangle etc, as they can be very annoying sliding about ( unless you use boot net).

I have a false floor from an estate ( very kindly given to me) in my Octy hatch & it is very useful, when seats folded the incline with the bench in is no where near as steep as without false floor, With bench out load is virtually flat.
