Cigarette light surround broken, so loose

Featured Replies

The green plastic surround etc is broken on the lighter, so 90% of time when you try and pull a charger out the whole thing lifts.

How easy is it to swap the lighter unit? It was a piece of cake on Mk1.

There's an extractor tool (T40148) that's used to withdraw the lighter.

There may be another way but I haven't heard anyone mention it.

I had the same problem. Ended up loosening the jumbo box/ console to get to the underside, even then it's tricky unless you have tiny hands. As the old ring was broken I just gently prised it out with a screwdriver. Just don't let go of the power cable like I did as you'll spend hours trying to find it again!

OK, that's good news.

The connector on the back of the Mk1 was quite big from what I recall, so it wouldn't have come through the hole. From what you're saying however the Mk2 will, so just find a replacement, pull it out sap and re-insert?
