New RS4

And it won't be a van!

The new saloon RS4 by Quattro GmbH has been seen pounding in the test miles for some time now, so I'm sure our frequent Ringers will have seen it do the Nordschleife at considerable speed. It is supposed to sport three huge air vents in the front bumpers, giving it a mean and nasty look. Engine is probably the well-known 4.2 V8 biturbo.

The RS6 will be withdrawn in 2004, along with the regular A6, so a 2004 introduction is on the cards.

Please Skoda, do an equivalent, I cant afford the Rowdi but I Oh so want one & I dont care what the badge is

I am glad to say that I have driven both the RS6 and the new S4 -- the new S4 would get my vote for every day use -- the RS6 is just insane -- why anyone would want more power than this is beyond me...

The S4 in it's new guise is a much.much better drivers car then before -- you actually get some feedback through the steering when cornering - you can feel your way around - fantastic -- an A4 body with the 4.2 twin turbo V8 -- that's going to be a total nutty machine - esp as rumours from Audi suggest it will actually be more powerfull than the RS6, at around 500BHP!!!

The new Audi A6 is due for June'04 Launch in the UK -- we had to order our launch vehicles over a month ago!!

quattro will be available on multitronic gearbox for first time.

DSG gearbox will be available on new A6

V6 Tdi - grows from 2.5ltr to 3ltr(180bhp-200bhp)

Launch engines are 2.4V6 Petrol,3.0V6 Tdi,4.2V8 ,in either sport or SE guises.

No indication as to when other models will be available - but expect Sept'04

Also next S8 is due to launch May'04 for europe(don't know for uk) -- expected 600BHP V10!!!
