2007 Octavia vRS ESP light

Featured Replies

Hi all,

This morning I went to get my front tyres changed at the garage I use regularly. All was good (except the price... )

This afternoon I jumped back in to drive and the ESP warning light has come on and stays on. The car drives as it should, but obviously it's a bit uncomfortable driving with a warning light on.

Does anyone have a suggestion as to what this could be before I get it booked in? And could the tyre change and this light coming on be related?

Thanks.

My guess would be a pressure sensor fault within the ABS unit. VW do repair kits for some units, we did one on a Seat the other week which cost £140 for the part. It tells you something about how common the fault is when the manufacturer does a repair kit for it.

I don't think it's related to the tyre change.

Thanks very much for your prompt reply.

Have got it booked it for next week, so will hopefully find out the answer... and that it's a cheap fix!

if you can get the car scanned for codes the esp module common fault is G201. The part is about £165 and two hours labour to fit. it used to be £1500.
