welsh meet and rr day anyone?

Featured Replies

I'd be up for a meet after my VRS arrives, should be within the next week or two.

Trouble is finding a decent place to meet, especially in this weather. Im happy just parking up having a look around each others cars and having a good chat but some people like to go all out with a bit of a trip and some food etc so pleasing everyone isn't easy.

The welsh section does need a kick up the backside. On other forums they used to have a regional rep who was happy to arrange things every so often, not sure if theres the same on here. If there is one on here no offence if you did used to try and its just members stopped showing interest.

Like you I'd be happy to just park up for a nose and a chat. There's often VW meets at Tesco in Newport as the car park is under cover and well lit.

Truck stop wouldn't be a bad idea but your right, we could use someone who has the time to organise something

Double post

i would be up for a meet, throw some dates out and see if any takers.

Im up for just meeting in a carpark lol. Im that simple! Even if we can start off with little meets like this then get them getting bigger!

The biggest problem with arranging a meet in Wales is the sheer size of the place! I have arrange a successful meet in the Elan Valley which couldn't be more mid Wales if you tried! It was only on the 2nd occasion that I arranged it did it work out. I just tried to do another meet in September this year although I was struggling to drum up interest.

I am watching this thread with interest. I would volunteer to help more with meets / forum etc, the problem I have is I am already commited to a full time job, running a badminton club, and fixing pc's in the evenings and weekends as well! I can't take on too much more atm! :)

I don't mean to exclude anyone who lives north of Brecon but it would seem most of the people who have expressed an interest live in South Wales. With that in mind would it be worth having a meet somewhere down south to start out with?

Newport, Cardiff, Porthcawl?

I was actually going to say about the size of wales as a section is silly. Seeing as it takes 5 hours to drive top to bottom its hard to arrange a so called welsh meet :D

I was actually going to suggest newport tesco but thought it might be a bit chavy for some. It is ideal though with parking under cover and obviously the options to grab a snack and drink if needed.

Absolutely Spitty Tesco is perfect, could always do a casual meet for Saturday afternoon if anyone's up for that?
