Struggling to fit Neuspeed RARB

Featured Replies

I am hoping one of you fine fellows will help me out with my inability to fit a used Neuspeed RARB to my octy vrs.

Try as I might, I just cannot get the top of the beam mounting brackets far enough over the top of the beam to get the bolt through the hole and the other bracket under the beam lip lined up.

I have tried to bend the brackets into shape but they just don't want to go over properly.

Also, I cannot see how you can drop the bolt through the top on the passenger side as there is not enough room to put it vertical unless you slide it right over to the middle and back again?

Any tips on how to bend the bracket when wrapped around the beam as it appears there is a gap on the long 45 degree side at the top which is stopping it going into he right position.

Very frustrated and wasted a day messing with it.

Thanks, Tony

They are a PITA to fit. Peserverance will pay off.

Okay I read on a Golf Mk4 fitting guide that using some clamps might do the trick.

I am guessing these are G clamps but no idea what size will be needed to clear the beam and get the right angle.

Any ideas anyone?

Hammer and pipe grips gets the job done

:)

It is a bit of a twonk to fit but im sure you'll manage it

They are tight buddy

I found greasing the bracket, then fitting bottom piece first then you a separate jack to press up to the bracket / bar where bush is and then push over top bracket it will go..

I managed just with brute force and swearing. Snug fit but shows they're up to the job!

Thanks guys, I will try again next weekend.

The brackets are used and I have bent them quite easily, but they bend back as I push them around the beam.

Maybe they are getting weak.

I think I am going to have to try to compress them when on the beam so I can push them forwards enough.

Will Let you know how I get on.

What about sending it back if it clearly doesn't fit properly?

Most of the overpriced aftermarket crap doesn't fit properly and it really winds me up. You pay through the nose for a supposed uprated part, but it's clearly not been designed properly.

Sorry I'm no help, but this sort of thing really grinds my gears!

Its designed properly, the reason the clamps are that tight is you don't want the bush to be slack, the tighter the better

The neuspeed is quite possibly the best designed rarb available for the mk4 platform golf

It 100% is Jase. My whiteline was cack in comparison.

You wouldn't want it to be slack would you?

Definately not!

I like it tight! Not too tight though. But nice and firm!

Nothing wrong with a firm bush......

That didn't take long. Haha.
