The End of the Road for my Felicia....what to do?

Featured Replies

Hi all,

Some advice would be beneficial as always.

I have had my felly for 3 years, and after some issues, she has left me proud. I havent treated the poor girl as well as I could have.... thats down to me not her.

Anyhow. I have just bought a camper, and I cant afford to run 2 cars. The MOT is out but it is taxed till the end of next month. I realise I have put this in the wrong section to sell, but not really sure what to do. Some guy offered me £50 for scrap, What should I do??

Here is a picture of the old gal

Looks to clean to scrap pal I'm sure someone would give it a good home for £300-£400

Hi ya, firstly you need to be a freedom member to post within the appropriate for sale section, but this has announced the intention!

Reasonable/average condition Fellys don't typically attract much value, even more so without an MOT, but whoever takes it off your hands for 50 notes would almost certainly have the potential to turn a nice re-sale profit!

Glad you've enjoyed her & good luck with the camper (loved our 79 Mk 2!).

Rob ;)

You cant sell in on here unless you are a "Freedom member".

BTW, £50 is cheating you, even scrap it is worth £100-150 in metal alone.

Put it on Gumtree for £250. (You are not going to get £400 for it in Wales - just look at the difference between other car prices - England v Wales)

I got £200 for scrapping an old Audi 80, not at a scrap car yard but a recycling centre, drove it on the weighbridge, drove it off and it was still ticking over when a big grab picked it up and placed it on top of a Mondeo!!!!!!

Whatever you decide, you should get a couple of quid, maybe MOT it if it isn't too bad and see if you can £350 for it.

Is it a hatch? 1.3? Whereabouts are you?

Just put it on Gumtree for £250,

Sorry for putting it here, I was after advice more than anything

Just put it on Gumtree for £250

And there's my dilema, Just been quoted £330 to do my clutch. Have had the car 8 years and will be sorry to see it go, not least because of the 50 mpg  I can get on a run but it's difficult to justify spending £330 on a car that's probably only worth that and then only if it's got a tank full of diesel. Clutch hasn't gone but is behaving oddly occasionally - an odd tight spot in the travel sometimes when I restart the car after it has been recently turned off but it never happens when the car is left running even if I'm stopped for a while at lights.

(Cable's been given the all clear, the plastic casing where the release arm enters the clutch housing is missing but I've been told it's not important so that leaves the clutch itself...)

do the clutch yourself.

you only need a decent engine support like in photo below and raise the front high.

as for the car on topic, we use to sell ourselves all parts from a car without MOT.

only when it's almost naked, it's scrapyard time.

Got the MP1 engine I see, that is the best of the 1.3's.

She wont go far without an oil filler cap though.

I hope she finds a new owner - but be prepared to lower the price, perhaps put "Or Best Offer" on the Gumtree ad??
