Octavia PD170 vRS Issues - Please help!

Featured Replies

Excision - I always noticed the hesitancy on light/part throttle. Never found it happening when giving it a blast.

As above, mainly when cold at part throttle (going round a roundabout etc)

Well, at £3 the plate can sit int he garage til i can decide what to do with it.

flat-eric, i'd love to be able to get the guys at Shark to sort the pipe and delete for me, but im in north devon, so its a bit of a trip up to them.

I had the STS box from them to begin with, then was going through so asked Ben to remove the DPF for me.

As regards the stutter, mine's usually under partial throttle going through the revs at 2000-2500, much worse if working the enging hard, ie. higher gear low speed or fully loaded car making it pull harder.

I must admit i dont really boot mine that much as its sooooo annoying to each time get the kangaroos.

maybe we need a "Describe your stutter" forum. It seems that what works for some people (eg. change to smaller aperture EGR gasket) doesnt work for others. Im sure there's not going to be a one size fits all solution, unfortunately.

Yeah, a one size fits all fix doesn't seem to exist. I cleaned my EGR valve recently but that didn't help. The stuttering showed it's face again on the way home! Grr...

Sometimes the the problem feels like no boost, other times like the ignition is cutting out (or whatever the equivalent is on a diesel - injectors not squirting diesel, whatever)

its as if the car cannot decide whether it is getting enough air, fuel or the right mix of both. I'm also thinking there maybe a fault in the vacuum system and/or the N75 boost control solenoid.

lots of variables!
