how you little fun truckers doing

iv had a look through some threads and cant seem to find what im looking for . walk back of my truck today and iv got oil splatter up my bumper and tailgate ,got someone follow from first starting off and im smoking pretty bad . would just like a little advice where to start looking first ?

Hi ya, IIRC I think Jim (Felicia16v) had the same issue a while back as remember seeing pic's of the oil staining on the rear bumper/tailgate. Out of interest how many miles has yours covered, have you been monitoring the oil consumption & has it come on quite quickly? Mine uses hardly any between services & suspect you may now be seeing a difference. I may well be wrong but to me it points towards wear/tear issues within the engine - piston rings/valve related etc. I'm sure Jim/Tom/Darren etc will be able to offer more insight.

Hope you can resolve without too much cost & hopefully it will be a simpler fix!

It does suggest blowing oil out the exhaust. Did your friend mention what colour the smoke was? I'm suspecting a light blue shade.

There are too many possible causes to continue without knowing if it's engine oil or unburnt fuel, and smoke colour is the place to start.

Yup mine was bad it had been overheated badly several times and cooked the piston rings . You.could have worn valve guide seals if.it's.come on suddenly but check that the engine breather is clear before condemning the engine, try blowing thru the breather pipe
