Should we rename the feature "Star in an Over-priced and Hghly Average Car"?

I've had people arguing with me that it's a reasonable car. On what planet is it reasonable?! Ok it's cheaper than the Focus spec for spec but there are cheaper cars out there that do the same job with the same kit.

Friend of mine had a current generation Astra for a while .... least practical car they've ever had, apparently. £17k for a car you can't actually pack a weeks' worth of holiday stuff in to reasonable? hmmm...

They went on about the 'lifetime warranty' however from what I've heard their 'Lifetime Warranty' is only valid for the first owner and is not transferable to others.

It's nothing to do with the car, it's all about which manufacturer wants their product on the TV the most.

At least the Astra is made in Britain.

I could have ten Rallyes for that much!

I heard this on their radio ads, but it sounds like the warranty is for the first owner only?

Only valid for the first 100k miles too. http://www.asa.org.uk/Rulings/Adjudications/2011/1/General-Motors-UK-Ltd/TF_ADJ_49572.aspx Hay, for some who do a lot of annual mileage, that could only last 5 years!

Who'd want to do loads of miles a year in an

astra! LOL

It's a con (IMO)... First owner buys the poxall ashtry, it's unreliable and is in and out of the workshop, so he trades it in a boom, the 'lifetime warrenty'shuffles off it's mortal coil

Much simpler than that.

Around 65% of all Vauxhalls (and Fords) sold in the UK (mainly Astras and Insignias) are fleet / company car sales.

1st owner normally chops them in after 3 years (or 75,000 miles if it comes first), so the Warranty dies at that point.

The lifetime Warranties in effect cost Vauxhall b*gger all.
