Firstly, a big thank you to everyone (mainly the Yeti gang – what do I do next? I'm IT and Web savvy, but not historically an online forum user...).

 

Your posts have been an amazing source of info while deciding on and waiting for [ :-( ] our new baby. I already feel as if I know some of you very well. Looking forward to contributing and giving back to the forum in the future.

 

Anyway, the as-yet-unnamed beastie (1.2 TSI SE in Shark Blue) – pretty sure she's a young lady with a strong affinity for Scandinavia and Switzerland – was built last week and we're awaiting the next progress report from the dealership on Monday – all being well, mentioning Emden, or at least the start of the train trip across Europe. Also monitoring German news channels for derailments...

 

Handover before the end of the month is on the cards. For a 31/5/13 order, this is much better than the 12–14 weeks originally expected (albeit with a 13 plate rather than a 63, but who cares as the master plan is to keep the Yeti for at least 10 years. It's still been a long wait, made a bit easier by tons of work, (good, because I love what I do), reading my way through the Yeti section (currently on page 80) and planning for the new arrival – including ordering my Garland Titan plastic tray boot liner as mentioned in the Yeti section. (Now £20 online but still a steal compared to the £122 I was quoted by the dealer.)

 

Much to my other half's despair, I've discovered the seemingly obligatory live Marine Traffic reports and the 'My Fleet' feature contained within. Got four of the car carriers programmed in as well as a Norwegian Hurtigruten vessel, but that's another story..

 

On a scale of 1 to 10, how excited am I. How about, in best Primal Scream tradition, 11!

Thank you. In contrast to SUK who haven't been the easiest to get a straight answer out of whenever trying to get answers to pre-order and pre-delivery questions...

 

As a contemporaneous 1.2 TSI orderer, it would be very interesting to swap notes on experience with the new arrivals (when's yours due?). I'm hoping the 12 speaker soundsystem lives up to expectations. MrsWrites only discovered that one had been snuck in at the point of agreeing the order with the salesperson. What she doesn't know yet is that it is having underseat drawers and sunglasses holder (non-standard on the SE) fitted by dealer... she'll love them but would have put her foot down if I'd suggested it... I'll just keep quiet and see how long it takes her to notice – she'll probably think they come with it as standard!

To be fair SUK have been very good for me this week. A nice lady named Maxine has been calling me with updates as to emden - grimsby part of the trip and is going to call again on friday to see if I have the car yet.

I hope to take delivery by end of the week or the monday after. Come over to the yeti forum
