Just wondering if anyone can help me find an air con clutch that isn't going to cost an arm and a leg, found them on eBay but there £99 which is quite steep, considering I don't know weather or not the system even leaks , can anyone help ???

Ahh good point, should of made that my first port of call

I bought a used compressor for my A4 off ebay a few months ago for £55, & no problems so far.

Check the splines on the compressor shaft are intact - a pic with the outer part of the clutch removed (undo the centre 14mm nut and withdraw the black clutch plate) if you're not sure.

 

I've just binned 3 compressors....................................
