Dual Climate - how's yours?

Featured Replies

One strange question from me...  well you might think it strange...  do you mount your sat nav dead centre on the windscreen?

If you do, you have your answer.  You are obscuring the sun sensor - that little bump on the top middle of the dash.  If you put your sat nav over that (as I have mistakenly done in the past before I knew what the bump was) the HVAC system pumps out about 20% of what it should (that's what it felt like to me).  So move your sat nav slightly off centre and voila your system will work fine.

If this is not what you've done...  then well, I don't know why it is so pathetic in the heat sorry.

The information given out on this forum is quite incredible! I'm SO impressed.

I'll check it tomorrow and I'll tell you if still work... Maybe it would be related with other setting (turning off the climate, open the roof, or something like that).

Thank you again James. I'll be back with updates...

Ok, I've checked it today and the recirc still turned on.

I've made other tests, and I've saw that if you turn off the climate (for example because you are driving with the windows or roof open) and turn on the climate later, the temperature it's still set with the old values, but the recirc button has gone, so maybe this could be my problem in the other cases...

If I'll detect something new, I'll be back here again

Yes - the system does drop the fan speed if you increase the temperature. I suspect therefore the system is fully operational, just a little "under capacity" when asked to maintain 18 degrees.

It's possible that your system may need regassing to restore it to full effectiveness.  If it's low in gas, I gather the system has to work harder, but I am not an a/c expert.

Yes, the recirculation setting gets lost when I turn the whole Climatronic off. Beats me why they set it up like this, though.
