Helpers/shocks - confusion

Featured Replies

I see people mention helpers when referring to coilovers/shocks, not sure what they are and what effect they have?

I fitted JOM coilovers last year and the rears are as high up as they will go, thus the top of the tyres are in line with the arches. I think the car is too low.

I just fitted the coilovers out of the box so wondering if i had to transfer anything from the stock shocks to the JOM's?

Cheers

by helpers they may mean a second small spring to be used as well as the normal one

Ah so just on fronts?

Normally yes, they 'help' keep spring tension on the main spring.

I have the opposite problem mine are all the way down on the rear on aps and isnt low enough. Only thing you keep from standard is the rubber top spring seat on the rear.
