My Mk2 Still very happy and proud to own it!

Featured Replies

Well, it's been a long time! I've had this car since September last year and it's been a dream to own. I purchased the car on 14000, and now it's just over 28000 :)

A few things have been slightly annoying such as the out of date blue tooth module, and an injector failure (replaced under warranty)

Then there was the dry creaky door seals which made me worry about the cars rigidity - turns out that this is a common problem for all car makes and it's just a quick lube of the seals with some rubber gel and its fixed!

Overall it's been a great car, I use it for work daily, covering most of cornwall when it comes to visiting customers homes. (I've almost bottomed it out a couple of times on some lanes but it's plowed through like a trooper!) Since fixing the injector I get around 39-42mpg on a day to day basis which I think is pretty fantastic for a 200bhp hot hatch!

I love the DSG, it's super smooth and jumps into action as soon as you need to squirt the throttle! It's so comfortable on long runs, its relaxing and great fun when you want it to be too.

Things I don't think I can live without ever again are parking sensors! Yes people might think their a cop out for not being able to park properly but my god, if you had to do 3 point turns in narrow spots, and you've got a boot as big as the Octavia's I strongly recommend them!

I know the new Octavia RS has just been announced and that there will be the *want* factor of a new car! But for the time being I can honestly say its a car that always look forward to driving every day! Always get smiles from other drivers, and I love that everyone also shares my love for the car! :)

Dark Hero! I'll be going on the Thursday and Friday!! I can't wait, I don't think there will be many yellow Octys there... if only mine! If I see another one I'll be very excited :P I'll keep an eye out for yours too.

I agree with you, it's great to share the feel good factor of owning Skoda's, it also makes me really happy to be part of such a special community of like minded owners.
