Hmmm different. I wonder how well it works in bright sunlight.

Plus it'd be very dependent on your car and phone.

Might work better with a low powered pico projector if such thing exists.

Have the phone in front of you and the projector doing the HUD.

And presumably the inside of the windscreen has got to be relatively smear, smudge and condensation free - might be a priblem fir some, including me.

And the projector unit rattling around as yet another item sitting on the dash -not ideal. I"d have preferred something atrached to the headlining/rear view mirrir or ftont windsreen pillar, with either stronger direct projection or a fibre optic cable dstributiing the image.

Wonder hiw much they'll charge for it ?

You could probably mount the projector vertically in the dash somewhere. Those pico projectors are probably far too powerful. Something less powerful could be smaller.

I don't think my patent millions are waiting..

You can already do this with a few apps. No-one's been daft enough to make a sat nav out of it yet though, the safety concerns about crashing your car trying to make out roads and symbols on a dirty / reflected windscreen make it unrealistic. The current apps are just GPS speedos with HUD.

Now if you were really clever you'd get the HUD set so it's in focus as you look down the road so you wouldn't need to refocus your eyes from far to near, to read the speedo take directions etc. That actually might be a good thing as long as you don't hack it to display Top Gear on the iplayer like a drive in movie.
