PD150 fitting.

Featured Replies

Hi guys, going down to pick up a PD150 turbo at the weekend as mine's just about dead (siren noise). Just wondering what I should be buying along with the turbo to fit it or is it literally a straight swap? I've read somewhere about having to turn the housing around..

Housing needs clocking, new oil feed pipe and new gaskets

change the oil feed pipe too ....

as for the turbo yes it will need clocking .... generally 4 bolts to slacken and twist it round to match the old unit.

thanka dude, will the oil feed pipe off a fabia be adequate or will it need to be off a Leon etc?

and fill the turbo with oil ( use a syringe) in the bit where the oil feed pipe goes .

once its all on let the car tick over for a bit to get oil everywhere .... dont start it up and rev it hard

Are you getting it made into a hybrid? :)

Not sure yet Dan, my dads friend who hybrids Subaru turbo's is looking into hybriding this one for me but as he has only done TD04 and TD05 turbos he's reading up on it now see if he can go ahead with it, it'll be good if he can because he doesn't charge very much at all, my dads got a hybrid on his scoob it's awesome.

Worth putting a new banjo and washers on for the oil feed.

Na the fabia one will fit fine.

When mine was fitted they turned the car over without starting it for a few seconds, guessing that does the same thing?

yeah .... generally the rule of thumb is around a sump and half of oil flows through a turbo per minute .... so if you let it tick over for a couple of minutes then the turbo generally wont be active but it will be getting a full flow of oil .... if you jump in it and boot it you can risk running the turbo without enough oil
