I know this has figured before, but for any recent Yeti buyers who may need a quick assist, I have this morning discovered the virtues of the advice to RTFM! While attempting to collapse the rear seats to get packed up for our trip to the south of France, I encountered the problem of (not) getting the middle seat to pack against the centre console. In desperation, I actually turned to the manual where I discovered the simple answer - having used the lever to fold the seat back, you need to operate the lever AGAIN, which allows the seat back to retract even further, at which point - voila, it folds right in against the console, at the same upright angle as the other rear seats.

 

I know the manual can be a pain, but at times it helps to swallow pride and turn to it!

And these directions are on the manual?? :think:

I didn't find it... Could you tell me in wich section are?? I couldn't do it on my last attemp, and I let the middle rear seat less folding than the other ones...

It's the very last instruction on page 64 of the manual you have referenced.

Oh! I see...I'm allways reading the section "Folding seats fully forwards and locking them", and I couldn't find something useful for this problem... :wall:

I couldn't wait for test it, so I went down to the garage and check it...

 

YES!!!... Now there is no problem with the centre console!!!... Thank you very much my friend hmibennett

 

Anyway, the middle seat doesn't fold as the outers do, because the middle one has a small rubber stop that the outers haven't...

Look at this photo (sorry about the quality. Has been done with a phone):

On red, the outers seats. On cyan, the middle one with the small rubber stop.

 

Do you have this rubbers on yours??

Thanks for the tip Andrew. Have a good trip. Next Fri we set off for the Dordogne. Had a play last w/e folding, tipping, and removing. With all the camping gear, looks like we'll have to go the whole hog and go in temporary van mode, i.e. one out all out.

Was puzzling over this earlier, so searched in here and found the answer to the middle seat folding conundrum.

If you know you wont be using the middle seat removing it all together is a good move.

The boot space can be increased significantly by sliding the 2 side rear seats forward , the middle one doesnt slide, and  moving them into the upright ( but uncomfortable) position.

But I am sure everyone has worked that out anyway
