Mix all function on MDI

Featured Replies

Hi

Just got mdi installed in the car and want to do mix all of my usb HDD but it only plays artists beginning with A and no others. Is there a file limit on the MDI?

Also does the MDI do the same if I use the iPod lead?

I want full random of all my music not just the first few artists.

Many thanks

Brett

Are you using a Bolero?

Be sure that the "mix including folders" is checked in the media setup menu

Put a single track in the root directory of your HDD

Play this track and select mix

It should then randomly select from all folders on the HDD.

There are limits that are listed in the manual - I don't have the car any more so don't have the manual.

From memory they are - max 1,000 tracks per folder, max 8 directory levels.

Thanks for the reply. I am using the Amundsen + not the bolero. I am not sure I have a 'mix including folders'option on the Amundsen? I have a 'mix all' choice though.

I have a single track in root but didn't select that when I tried the hdd last night. I will try that tonight.

Should I put all artist folders in a 'music' folder as well?

Cheers

Now using the iPod cable as mdi seems to play all my music on there in mix all mode.
