Skoda Yeti and the Tour de France

Featured Replies

The Tour de France has just passed our house and was a bit of Skoda fest.

Lots of colours that you wont find in the Brochure....orange and yellow and some wierd blues ?.....in fact they are painted in the same colours as their team bikes.

Lots of the new Octavia....have to admit it does look nice...

A few superb and just one Rapid......well at least Skoda have sold one.

Lots of Yeti........but they were 'Yeti Vans' never seen that one before. Very cool mind you.

Got myself a free Skoda hat by waving the kids at the passing Skoda promotional vans. Smile kids...look cute...I want a hat.

Nice work. :D

Are they not just Skoda Yeti's with Vinyl over the windows, to make them look like vans?

Al.

Probably, or some form of internal cover.

Tried to find some pics, have seen them on the TV but the best google came up with from the words "Yeti" and "Tour de France" was:

Possibly....but I am not so sure. I think they were special builds for the Tour. It was difficult because I was too busy trying to protect the kids from being run over by Mark Cavandish..........I did not want to spoil his race. 'Sorry Mark, I was too busy looking at the Skoda van....does it hurt ?'

But....I would say the Yeti looked the best of the bunch (I am bias) but the new Octava looked really good too. I have the Mk 2 and would now very much like this one......I hope they dont change the looks of the Yeti too much. It does still look great.

It must be said that all the Skodas looked great with the 'Tour de France/' different colour/stickers representing the different teams.

this was the one from 2010 tour - looks like one-way vinyl on the windows - of course, could be a new design now 3 years on...

Nope it was more van like.

I will be catching up with the Tour next week in Alpe du Huez......I will try to have a good old look this time. They will not be going anywhere.

We all have a great chance of catching the tour next year 2014 as it starts in Yorkshire and heads through Cambridge over three days. :-)

Well not very fast, anyway :)

I was there 2010 in Fayence and the white ones were the first I had seen in the flesh.

Deffo had mirror vinyl on the rear windows.

Witnessed the first crash on that tour. It wasn't in the peloton, but three of the team cars running into each other :giggle:

This year I have to be content with TV coverage. I'm sure there's a couple of facelift Superbs in with the peloton?

There are some that would say Ottie, our Shark Blue baby (only two weeks away!!!), was a weird blue!  :giggle:
