Doorcard woes

Featured Replies

My drivers side doorcard like on a lot of cars is falling to bits along the top,has anyone come up with a repair method for this as i cant find a second hand one anywhere and its annoying me

Cheers

Nope, for the same reason you describe the reason they are as rare as rocking horse muck is because they wear easily if you rest your elbow on the window sill.

Time to bite the bullet and stump up the £300 for a brand new one?

If not black gaffer tape should do the trick (I've seen this in taxi's!)

Thats a shame dunno what to do aout it now as its doing my head in but i dont fancy paying all that that :(

There's loads of MK2,s breaking on eBay if that's any help.

I have barely, if at all, rested my elbow on the doorcard. However, my doorcard is still fading at the edge near the led.

Is there any products to revive this patch or to colour it?

Paul

I had mine replaced under warranty after 4 weeks and 1500 miles from brand new...

It's clearly either a bad batch (the replacement is fine 45,000 miles later), or just sh1te materials.

If yours isn't under warranty, I've read somewhere people have injected a kind of filler into the soft top surface.

Good luck!

Cheers Jim.

Not sure how long after I got the car that it occurred, but it sure does bug me.

Car is due first service so may mention when I book it in.
