Radiator temp sensor

Featured Replies

Just checking I replaced my radiator the other day unfortunately I need a new washer on the radiator temp sensor but because of time of day nowhere was open so I used ptfe tape after reading on a post on here I just want to check to make sure that it will suffice I will replace with a proper washer once off my holiday unless its a major concern and ill try to get one today

Thanks

If you are using the car for the holiday then personally I wouldn’t take the risk and change it ASAP.

I knew someone was going to say that lol where can I get the rubber ring or washer from and do you know the size at all

Not sure of the size but TPS, or a dealer would be your best bet they are only going to be a quid or so.

PTFE tape will be fine. Skoda don't fit a sealing washer to them from factory.

Thanks tech1e I thought it would be I have been monitoring it over the last few days and its shown no signs of leaking so I'm hopeful ill try and replace with a proper seal once I'm back

I'm with tech1e on this one, consider re-sealing it with something different if - and only if - it shows any signs of leaking.
