Passenger central air vent not working

Featured Replies

Just bought a 1 year old 1.6 DSG Elegance estate and so far love it - getting average 55mpg using computer - 65 on my long trip back from London to North Yorkshire the day I bought it.

But there is 1 problem.

The passenger side central air vent is not working - you can barely feel any air coming out of it at all, even when the climatronic is on full - the drivers side chucks out lots of air.

Anyone any ideas? I wondered about fuses, but can't see anything wrong with them. I can only think that it's never worked and the previous owner (lease car) didn't get it fixed or never had passengers.

We're going on a long trip to Cornwall in less than 2 weeks and with this hot weather, I'd better get it fixed or my wife will faint!

If air is flowing out of the drivers side central vent then it won't be a microswitch / electrical fault, as far as I am aware the two central vents are fed as one.

Is air flowing out of the passengers side door vent? If so this should confirm a blockage or disturbed pipe / tube.

Either way its covered under warranty, time to take it back to the dealer.

Get them to turn on the DRL's (daytime running lights) too if they aren't already on!

Thanks.

Yes the passenger side door vent works fine. I guess it must be a pipe or blockage in the centre vent - strange that 1 side of it works fine, but the other doesn't - I would have thought they both used the same pipe for the air.

I'll ask about the DRL's as well. I don't have to take it back to the dealer I bought it from do I? they are in London, I am in North Yorkshire!

Any Skoda franchised dealer can carry out warranty work for you.

I'm in York, I'd advise against using DM Keith in York though!

Yes, I'll use the Knaresborough one, I work there so I can try it after work, hopefully.

Thanks again
