Golf MK4 Interior & Spark Plugs!

Featured Replies

I have been told that a Golf MK4 5 door carpet will fit my vRS?  Reason for needing to do this is being in the building trade my carpet is going to stay clean for seconds!!  Will Golf MK4 seats fit ok as really need to change my seats too?

Also......These are the spark plugs I fitted, are these any good..... NGK BKR6E-11

Golf 3 or 5 door, seat Leon or toledo, audi a3 3 or 5 door. Think a couple of them have a small area under the back seat that's easy to cover. Also other specs of octy have a dark carpet.

Also all the above seats will fit as long as they are based on the golf mk4 chassis, apart from the audi tt

Fitted a Golf Mk4 black carpet(5 door) in mine a few weeks ago, fits perfectly, and so much more practical.

Even with a black carpet, it will get filthy... quickly... im in a similar trade.

i got a set of proper chavvy looking fake steel checker plate rubber mats in lidl

about 5 years ago....hose em down every now and again and still perfect.

they just dont quite keep the s^&t out of the corners of the carpets.

if your willing to spend an extra few quid, you can get moulded rubber floor mats designed to fit perfectly into the footwells.

they look quite good, and when me lidl ones wear out il be getting them.

As for the plugs, some say that those are the best for mapped cars but need changing every 10k.

I'm not sure about the 11 on the end but the first part of the number is good, they made of copper which apparently is the best thing for plugs but doesn't last that compared to the oe ones which are good for 48k. Just remember to change regularly.

makes sense if they are copper they wont last... great conductivity, but will soften and corrode at relatively low temps...

Thats interesting, so maybe keep the original interior?  Someone want to swap with me from a 5 door Golf GTI MK4, but is has the blue inserts on the seats on this Golf and thought that may clash a bit with the white on the door cards as these wont fit/swap over from an Octy to a Golf MK4.

well... id maybe still swap the interior, if you want keep them nice and fresh for if you decide to sell on...

or get some decent seat covers...

I wouldnt be a big fan of that colour tbh...

Think he'd be getting the better end of the deal with the VRS seats!

id invest in some covers and keep the stock interior :-)

Fair enough the colour doesn't match, but in terms of comfort & support the Golf seats are vastly better

Better quality + tougher too - will withstand building site condition/wear and tear better than a vrs seat

Those are the lesser "Recaro style" seats rather than the full on Recaros like these

As others have said you'd be getting the shtty end of the stick with a straight swap.

Potentially if he sweetened the deal with some cash it might balance itself out.

I mean yours are half leather after all!

For what it's worth you can buy a full all black interior in the same style for £75

then potentially sell on your VRS interior for anything up to around £200

meaning you have seats you don't have to wrry about getting dirty AND cash in your pocket!

there is a little sub-culture within the Golf 'modding' scene that's into vrs interior swaps :giggle:

thats bcause the vRS interior is so nice :-)

 :x

I shall re phrase.... nice looking in appearance ...

ive not had the pleasure of owning or driving one, so cant really comment on comfort

When you see the material up close, you realise it appears to be made from the same nasty polyester - rayon type of stuff 70s' football kit is made from

Bear in mind i have a bog standard ambiente... with slightly drab grey seat covering witha worn away side bolster on the drivers door that you can see the foam through... 70's football kit and half leather kept looking clean and well would be a ma-hoosive upgrade ....

Seat Leon interior very nice seats and cheap

Seat Leon interior very nice seats and cheap

Just been on Ebay......I like the look of the Seat Leon seats.......Hmmmm, what shall I do about this chap who wants to swap these blue Golf seats with me?

The Seat Leon's seats of Clive's (cntuning) are firmer and more supportive than the vw recaro clones

The seat base is a better design in terms of knee support too

Where are you in the country brick house ??

I have a nice interior for you ;-)
