What paint to use for mk1 octy black grille/de-chrome

Featured Replies

I have seen all sorts used, im thinking plasticote?

Can anyone point me in the direction of the paint they used?

Plastidip is what you need. Just clean surface no need to key or rub down. Then three light coats leaving 20 mins between coats and job done. Simples !

Here's mine. Did it over a year ago now. No chips still as good as the day it was applied

Vinyl wrap is my preferred method

I painted mine with gloss black paint takes a little nore time due to prep work but looks great

Have to agree with the vinyl wrap, my son and I have done both our cars. Been done a couple of years and still looks good

did you use the matt black one?

It's sort of a satin finish. I think they only do one shade of black plastidip. It is what it is. Looks very OEM a very close match and texture to the bumper and side rubbing strips.

18 months later i still cant decide whether to plastidip the grill surround and give the rub strips a freshen up to match,

or... colour match them all Black Magic to the rest of the car...
