Power opening/ closing boot

Featured Replies

Hi,

Sorry if this is obvious, but should the centre button on the key only unlock the boot, or should it automatically open it? I get quite envious watching BMW drivers open their boot from afar, while I have to walk up to it and press a button (Oh the hardship!! LOL).

Thanks, Andy

OK, sorry please ignore this post. I only had to look 2 threads down to the 'long press of unlock window opening' thread and thought, maybe that will work - lo and behold, press the boot unlock button and now have a remote opening boot!

It is good when you can talk to yourselve.

Perhaps you can add details of your car to your profile, that way the question I was about to ask (twindoor or estate) would have already been answered...

Talking to myself would be fine, Danny, but I can be such an argumentative git!

Car details now added Silver, thanks for the tip.

Not sure where you are? but get yourself hooked up with someone with VCDS (list of owners in my signature) and you then can also use the remote and button INSIDE the car to close the tailgate as well as open it (the way it should of left the factory IMO).

Hi,

Could you please give some more details how to program the car to close the tailgate?

Looking at various site VCDS are not cheap to purchase. Circa £230 -ouch.

Are there any VCDS owners in the Aberdeen area that I could meet, and activate this function for my boot? ...alternatively I will be moving to Oxfordshire later in the year so I could meet someone in that area from December.

Please PM me if you can help.

Thanks.

Have a look on the owners list and pm someone near you, the chances of someone reading this thread are lower.
