Felicia needing engine ecu and matching coolant temp. sensor

Featured Replies

Hi there,

I need an engine ecu for my x reg felicia 1.3 - over revving, eating petrol and occasionally troublesome to start though not for first journey of day, nor if left for 30 mins plus after stopping.

Was informed that numbers (below in bold) need to match exactly even with re-programming - have tried one with a couple of differing digits and even after re-programming car no longer starts.

Identifiers on my ecu are; Siemens Czech Rep

Is yours available and if so does it match? Fingers crossed.

My mechanic tells me that it would be even better if I could get the linked coolant temp. sensor also and the last 6 digits of donor chassis number match mine (...331617).

Would be grateful if anyone, who has, but no longer needs them, could help supply these parts and keep my felicia on the road.

Thanks in anticipation,

Regards, Don.

This sounds more like a coolant temperature related problem.  I would fit a new thermostat with a sensor, part number 047121111E, clean and adapt the throttle body, ensuring that there is slack in the throttle cable and if necessary earth the negative side of the temperature sensor on the ECU side.  The 4 pin sensor has two pairs of pins, one pair for the ECU and the other for the gauge.

To get a used ECU to work the learned values need to be erased as this will clear the immobiliser information from the donor car.

it's the immobiliser that needs to be have the learned values erased to match up a new ecu, not the ecu itself, although it is worth erasing the ecu values at the same time

Hi,

Thanks for both of your replies. Will mention suggestions/advice to mechanic working on the car.

Regards, Don.
