Hi all,

Does anyone know what % window tint would equal the factory sunset glass option on the Citigo? Has anyone on the forum had their Citigo windows tinted with pics?

Thanks.

I have tints fitted to my citigo. They were aftermarket ones, got them as part of my deal (well they were a freebie)

When the rain stops and I clear the dust off my windows I'll take some pictures.

I have the Greentech and I think the windows are tinted as standard?

Don't remember seeing anything about it in the brochure?

Yeah, sunset glass.

Is the sunset glass real tintet glass or are they fitted with some kind of foil ?

It's the glass itself that is tinted darker, no film is used.

If in doubt as to whether they are factory fitted sunset glass or aftermarket film, take a look at the heated rear screen the orange elements are much more pronounced with film, you also get a lighter area all around the edge where the 'dot matrix' black band is painted onto the glass, as the film cannot adhere properly between these dots.

Thanks :-)

Pictures as promised. I know they arent the best pictures but they give an idea of what an aftermarket tint is like

Yes and i wouldnt recommend you so it yourself. Theres a particular skill to it and even though you might manage to do the 2 rears with a bit difficulty the rear window is virtually impossible. if you want it done its worth just paying a little extra and getting it done correctly.

Just for info, I thought that tinting/privacy glass was just a gimmick - you know, a cheapo add on that the marketing team exploit to sell cars (incidentally, I'm nearer 60 than 50).  I bought my Citigo Colour edition off carwow.com and it had the sunset glass as standard, but at that time I wouldn't have specified it as an extra.

However, it does keep the car noticeably cooler in the summer (compared to my previous Aygo) which is a boon for my two Border terriers.  As a result, I'd specify it on all future cars.

And just a bit more useless info, I purchased the car as a pre-reg in 07/16 with 16 miles on the clock.  It's currently at 27 669 miles having used 1 770 litres of fuel @ £2 200.87 giving an average 60.55 mpg @ £1.244/litre.

Car is running fine with no issues other than the usual 'grumbling' transmission from cold and the front tyres are down to 2mm tread and are noticeably more noisy.  I'm planning on a pair of Dunlop BluResponse, does anybody have any comments on these?

Cheers from Marown, IoM.
