Clicking snapping noise when braking and accelerating

Featured Replies

Hi guys, right I have a problem with my octavia 4x4 when the car is moving and I brake I get a snap/ clicking noise then when applying gas it clicks again, it's drivers side feels and sound like under the pedals, it's more noticeable when going slower, but it does feel like something is clicking in and out of place it's very weird, I've had the wheel off and I can not see any obvious symtoms

Could be a few things needs to be put on a ramp and checked

Maybe a CV failing?

I am getting this as well. I have it more on the clutch than on the fast pedal. Mines very intermittent.

I had a similar issue whenever I pressed the clutch I could feel it through the pedal and hear a click so I took off the cover underneath the dash that goes around the pedal legs and it was catching on the cover ....

So I left the cover off problem solved

if it is down by your feet or the passengers it may be the subframe bushes as they are made out of creamcheese.  If vehicle has been subjected to remap and spirited driving/braking it will be more likely.  Best ones to replace them with are from the Cupra R or the TT 3.2/roadster as they are a more solid bush.  I was lucky and managed to get a Cupra R subframe with cast lower arms instead of having to try and remove the bushes

Are the subframe bushes a bitch to do then?

I have an annoying knock coming from the front suspension and I have just changed everything, springs, bottom arms and ball joints which had Superpro bushes fitted at the same time, drop links, both steering arms and track rod ends, ARB bushes (Superpro), the only thing left is the rack bush (Superpro again).

The car is mapped to stage 1 but not driven particularly hard, just loads of annoying speed humps around where I live giving the suspension a hard time  :swear: .

Do you notice it when braking/accelerating or just going over bumps?
