I remember seeing a post  along time ago, giving a part number for  whatever it is that makes the gearchange less sloppy. anyone know off the top off their heads ?

Do it better - replace it with a steering joint from something like a Fiesta.  Half an hour with the MIG welder and you'll have super-precise gear changes and it won't wear out either.  £10 well spent.

not telling in your profile what TYPE and YEAR your Felicia is will not get you an answer.

do you like being asked each time about that?

on the other hand, this forum has a powerful Advanced Search function (top right with a gear icon) free for anyone to use before creating a topic.

I used it many times and I got the answers.

Did you manage to get an answer, OP?  I too found a number of old threads that reference parts that don't seem to be readily available or suppliers who's websites are down.

I'm looking for a solution for this problem on a 1999 Felicia 1.9D Estate which has a truely comical gear change at the moment.  Each gear is selectable but it's so loose and sloppy in every gear.

Somebody should write a definitive, detailed article on fixing the gear shifting mechanism. It is a problem so common, that generated so many topics, that I believe it deserves a topic PINNED high up.
