Not Getting An Rs

Featured Replies

Well went to my dealer yesterday. Found out a couple of things that discouraged me from taking ownership of the RS:

1. The quoted price was raised from 14,981.42 to 16,853.86.

2. Dealer wants a 6,866.56 deposit.

3. Techies do not know jack about the RS.

4. Car specifications did not match the order form.

5. Car has 16 inch rims instead of 17's.

6. I was told it had climate control but now they stated it as having air con.

So while waiting 2 months for my car to arrived I get shoved with the preceding down my throat on one day. I said screw it, so I'll probably be getting a Mitsu dealer's EVO 6 instead. Worst thing was, they tell me that if I wanted another RS with the specs I had originally specified I would have to wait until November:confused:

Hmmm.

4, 5 and 6 all point to the car being an import for me. You're right to reject it if it doesn't match the contract, but must also be extremely annoying after waiting 2 months already. Also sounds like very dodgy activity by the dealer - is this really a Skoda dealer - if so (and if you feel OK with doing it) I think they should be named and shamed.

Are vRS's in such short supply these days?

Cheers and commiserations,

Makes sense. If the car isn't on stock somewhere in the UK, then that's the normal delivery time (10-12 weeks) for a new car to come from the Vrchlabi factory.

The one offered to you is most probably an Irish import.

Sorry guys as I haven't stated my location on my profile. I currently live in the Rep. of Panama in Central America.

Howard: They are unfortunatley the only authorized Skoda dealers here.

Definitely an import then ;)

Duh!:bttt:

Hellraiser, there are a couple of people from your neck of the wood on here, and they might be able to assist you in some way?

Oops, had missed that.

Still, Ireland is halfway to Panama... :D

Or it could simply be genuine Latin American spec. Bad job on the price quote, though.

Quinten: Yes I know, some are fellow Skodi owners who I've referred to this board.

Dutch: Yeah just like any other place in the world!:p I can't believe they wanted to hike the price that much for a RS that was not even fully spec'd out.

On the plus side, you now have good reason to mod the 1.6... :D

Rob.

If i had the money and had ncb id get the evo 6 :)

Rob: You got that right!

day tripper: Same here. Right now I'm into negotiations since it's a 2001 Model EVO 6 GSR but the asking price is 15,557.64. I'm trying to get it lowered to around 11,823.99. I have 3 colors to choose (silver, white, and black). I'll probably go for the latter though:rolleyes:
