what would the difference be if i bolt a ko3s hybrid on stock?

Featured Replies

hi guys, im thinking of getting a ko3s hybrid to stick on my octy 4x4, my octy is allready been remapped to 220bhp, everything on my car is standard so if i stick one of these on would it run ok with the remap? also would i gain any real power? thanks

Speak to clive matey :)

He does hybrid voodoo ;)

ok mate, whats his user? just clive?

It would still run 220bhp... Thats if it is even 220bhp as the standard downpipe can't push any more than 210bhp

ive got the 4x4 model with twin cat does that mean its still restricted?

Im not sure on that

Plenty of people with standard downpipes getting well over 220... It is however a big limiting factor.

I couldnt get over 210bhp at r-tech on standard dp!

Had all other supporting mods to hit stage 2 power, ths fmic, carbonio, forge 007p and with a custom map it wouldnt push more than 210bhp

ok, i can also get hold of a larger bore downpipe and decat would that be a decent upgrade for £120? i guess turbo would spool faster and maybe a few bhp?

nice one pal, just spoke to him :)

Yikes! How long ago was this?

12 months exactly

And that was a custom map with sai delete and all the other crappy deletes

Car was healthy as anything and on a 55 plate with 65k miles so as good as a mk1 octy's going to get really (unless your names lloyd)

I was told it would not surpass 210bhp with the standard dp

(Which i also might add at least 5 forum members also confirmed this due to standard dp being too small)

Good man :)

I alerted him before bed hehe

As other have, been told its not the cats, its the neck of the downpipe, same issue as with vrs downpipe iirc

eg the turbo flange to flexi section

Not the same as the 4x4 but you get the idea. Some of them are rather restricted by this type of thing

ha2e7ypy.jpgAs well as the rather narrow section of the pipe there are also a lot of poorly constructed flexi bits which can be the biggest problem.

I looked at things like this but lack of ramps made me look to a specialist Stainless fabricator for fitted prices.  I got some prices from Charlie at Prospeed Exhausts in Cardiff, but I cant find them at the moment but they were reasonable for DP only and the fitting is the biggest PITA. :D

Would that have connected to the twin cats ?

I think its from the bottom of a 2wd TT one but it shows the narrowing.  Not the worst one I have seen but I couldnt find the pic of that one. :D

I will get mine done eventually if the business takes off.  If it takes off well enough it may just become a plaything...

Building a successful business empire so you can fund a skoda - what more motivation do you need ?

Building a successful business to foot the fuel bill for SWMBO's RX300 :D

Then start spending on the skoda....

Charlie does top work & is very competetive price wise. Prospeed moved to Wentloog earlier this year. http://www.pro-speedexhausts.com/

I was in Charlie's monday as it happens. Fair play I only called in to see if I could nip back at some point and get my exhaust checked for leaks.

Did there and then a didn't charge me either.

No holes which is bad news as I'm still not sure whats wrong with my car lol
