window tint?

Featured Replies

Hi all

Just bought a vRS but think the tint, put on by the main dealer, is too dark.

How much is too much these days before it starts to cheapen the car, or is it personal taste?

Thoughts, would be appreciated.

I'm not a big fan of window tints myself, however that looks great, really compliments the wheels.

Personal preference I'd say, and as long as the fronts aren't tinted then its all good.

TBH mate if I were you i'd be more worried about the colour of the paint! ;)

If your car was black or dark grey, you wouldn't even look twice at those tints. It's only because they contrast with the green so much that you notice them.

If I was putting tints on a car the same colour as yours from scratch, I'd probably go for slightly less of a tint. Saying that, If I bought a car in that colour with those tints applied I wouldn't be worried about it to the point of removing them and putting new ones on.

I like

A bit pimp but not bad at all. I quite like the green, especially in the estate.

Does it affect your visibility? That would be my only concern.

Looks just a little dark. But looks good. I'm still a fan of the green any plans to add more black?

Does not affect visibility, had similar level of tint on a black freelander 2 and got used to it but being black it blended nicely.

The green colour itself is a bit marmite, you either love it or hate it.

Like I say the dealer stuck the tints on 2 days before I saw it on the forecourt. I had been watching it tumbling down in price in the auto trader but it was standard on that advert, they did the wheels/tints to try and get some interest, because as I say its a very funny colour and not to everyone's taste.

I do not care as I plan on keeping it a long time so makes no odds to me if others like the colour or not.

Only other bits that need to be black would be the front grill but not sure on which way to go wrap/plastidip or get it painted?

Regards

That looks amazing in green mate! :) Tints are pretty dark but work well against the colour.

This.

Looks great to me

I really like it. As was said before, it goes well with the wheels.

Plastidip is probably the best way to go it will last longer than paint.
