I've been searching and searching to see if the new VRS Octavia has auto wipers or not. Anybody know? The brochure I have says Aero wipers with intermittent. I can't see any options to add them. It might sound daft but I love the auto wiper function....

I've not checked the mk3 spec but the mk2 auto wipers came as part of the auto lights package.

Pretty sure it's standard. Will check tomorrow

In Slovenia auto wipers are standard on VRS 3.

Yes, its standard as is auto rear view mirror and auto headlights, if you go through the configurator and then get it to email you your config when you open the emailed file it opens as a full PDF with your options plus a full list of standard kit, and I recall it being on there along with 'Radio Japan'.......

This is why I am confused. VRS has X equipment over SE. No mention on auto lights and wipers. 

On the 'equipment' page of the Skoda UK website, the rear dimming mirror isn't listed for the vRS but it is for the Elegance.  But...when you go through the vRS configurator, it's listed at the equipment when you get to the end, along with rain sensing wipers and auto lights.

The vRS has light assistant which is effectively auto lights, wipers and electro-chomatic mirror. Doesnt and cannot be specified with folding mirrors however.

The VRS does have auto wipers.  100% certain although it's not in the brochure.

 

I tested them today by pushing the right stalk up one position (one swipe of the wipers) and then placing a damp finger on the sensor, which immediately caused another wipe each time.

Were you fast enough to move your finger before the wiper got it? Or is the sensor not in the sweep of the wipers?

It's right at the top by the rear view mirror, so you have time to move.

The car is basically SE spec bar the vRS add ons, 18" wheels, bi-xenons, MFSW and light assistant. Finally think Skoda have moved away from putting the kit in and offering only some of the functionality as standard (think MK2 Elegance with auto wipers and mirror but not lights), get the whole caboodle now.
