Bolero radio issue

Featured Replies

Does any know why I can not pick up the AM band, it is just all static, FM works fine :wonder:

Maybe it was an upgrade in your car?

Sorry I can't see as I'm on my mobile. If so then you just have one connector going to the FM plug. If you want AM too you will need to buy a Fakra lead off eBay.

Pull the HU out and look behind it at the white aerial connectors. If only one is connected, then there's your problem.

If they are both connected, then you will need to look at the aerials you have fitted for problems and then look at wiring/connectors.

Alternatively, find a local member with VCDS and ask them to scan your car (there is a list of members in the relevant forum section pinned at the top of the page).

Congratulations on your first post. And welcome.

Or it could be the infamous aerial base problem!

If it's an estate with the rear quarter window aerial, it may also be that they're connected to the HU in the wrong inputs and need swapping round.

How did you get on?

I'm having the same problem.

Just bought a used Octavia 60 plate elegance hatchback.

How do you access the Head unit?

I pressed & held setup button which brought up radio service mode.

Pressed AM which showed frequency Q poor.

Also Ant 1 off & Ant 2 on - is this the problem?

How to fix?

Anyone any suggestions before going back to the dealers?

Many thanks in anticipation.
