wiper motor fault?

Featured Replies

Evening all,

Strange reaction this morning from my rear wiper(pre FL hatch). Moving the stalk into the wipe position results in no wipe but operates the washer motor. It seems to have 'lost' the wipe function.

Had a quick search for rear wiper but can't see this particular symptom.

Any thoughts - motor failure, stalk fault, water ingress somewhere?

Opinions gratefully received.

Sounds like water ingress / motor failure to me! Pretty common fault, I've just had mine done under waranty on a 62 plate blackline

Rather strangely, the front wipers have now lost their wash function as well (but still wipes). Odd!

Turned out to be relay related in the end. Simple fix!

Hi guys, aim new to the forum and would like some help, I have major problems with my front wiper, the come on automatically by them selves and out of control when I turn the streering wheel to the right, the do nt switch off, until I pull the fuse out, I have taken the car in to my local specialist who also is baffled, however they still want to throw parts at it insisting they know what they are doing, so far they have tested all the wires, saying they are fine but I need a new control unit £512 fitted, this didn't make any difference, they then said it was the rain sensor in the front of the rear view mirror, so I asked them to disconnect it, still no use, they have insisted it is the wiper motor that has water inside so I replaced that myself at the cost of £130 , today I pulled it out of the garage with my fingers crossed and sure enough the first right turn I made the wipers came on, I have been thinking all along it could be the stalk but haven't replaced that yet, I have lost all faith in Bullen Automotive and need some help please....thanks a lot Dan

Oh sorry I forgot to add, I have fitted anew bonnet catch to, thanks again

Sounds like stalk or steering controller to me.

That's mate, I think I ll get one and get it fitted, cheers
