Faulty driver side window switch.

Featured Replies

Hey guys,

Could someone point me in the right direction with regards to replacing the driver side electric window switch please. it appears as if the switch has come loose and there is a lot of play in the switch. It works normally when rolling the window down. However, in order to roll it up i have to apply pressure from an awkward angle.

Is it an easy job?

How much would a new switch cost?

Regards,

Evangel

^ That's well steep for a 2nd-hand one, considering a new one from Skoda is £34-ish

Yeah it was the first example i found of which part comes off. There are cheaper one on ebay, just had a quick look and the lowest i saw was £7.

Cheers guys, Much Appreciated.

Although i was thinking about buy the switch without the housing. example (http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/VW-GOLF-MK4-BORA-SKODA-FABIA-SEAT-LEON-DRIVERS-SIDE-FRONT-ELECTRIC-WINDOW-SWITCH-/321169720051?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item4ac73502f3) Pretty sure i can find a cheaper option.

Will this be a hassle? any obscure wires i should lookout for when removing and fitting the switch?

Need to change mine also

Passenger and drivers side both playing up

Just go to a scrapyard and get the switch that's what I did for my passenger one

Cheers guys, Much Appreciated.

Just as easy, the wires are just a plug.
