18 horses have run away. Anything I can check?

Featured Replies

About a year ago I did a test with one of these mobile devices ( elm327 ) and got 130-132hp.

Today I get a high of 112hp at just under 4k rpm.

The only difference in settings that I think I didn't do last time is add on the drivers weight.

Any idea what it could be?

Boost leak?

Can you trust a mobile device?  I wouldn't be concerned unless you can "really" feel the power difference, or a dyno-run shows a flat-spot, power lacking. :)

Unplug maf and try again. Wouldnt go by one of those devices anyway.

Not the most accurate i know, seem to provide similar data each run though.

Havnt noticed a sudden drop in power but have been saying for a while it feels to have slightly less go.

I just put it down to being used to the car.

Just reading up on the maf and will try it. Thanks for the suggestion.

Exactly, add to the fact this time of the year has been the hottest its been for a long time thats most likely where you 'suspected' power has gone because your intake temps will be high to begin with.

It could just be that.

It went in for it's full service and check over a just A month ago and nothing's changed since then.

The only thing I'm not sure of is when I release the accelerator completely I get some turbo whistle like you do when your accelerating.

Is that normal?

Firstly ignore the device.

If you want to confirm power go find somebody who has a dynodynamics rolling road and have a run done (about £50).

Secondly a whistle off throttle is not normal at all.

I don't know where to start in terms of troubleshooting..... But it does need some.

You left the stable door open?

Or Mr Hands has taken them.

If you understand that then your a sick puppy!

Could it not be anything to do with the warm weather?

I get (and always have) turbo whistle/egr noise when coming off the throttle between 1600-2000 rpm.
